What makes good reality tv?

There have been a lot of reality tv shows coming out lately and they all have been very popular, but when you actually look at them they aren't even close to actual reality.  Like "Real World" and "Jersey Shore" all the people do on these shows is party and they get paid to do it, especially the Jersey Shore cast.  They get paid a lot of money just to show up at a club.

  1. Wouldn't it be nice to be an idiot and get paid for it? Maybe, especially in the case of the Jersey Shore cast, they will pay for their fame in the future with shame and regret. Then again, they might be too foolish to feel those emotions. Reality shows are cool and all, but these "real experiments" are rather tiring.

  2. Not only are some of these reality shows just plain idiotic, they are not even entirely reality. The bottom line is that drama sells, so even if people on Jersey Shore dislike each other, MTV will exploit this to make money. As much as we do not like to admit it, I believe that some, if not most, of what happens on some reality TV shows (cough, Bachelor) is scripted.

  4. Reality television could not be even further than reality. Most of these shows have a script that they are to follow or are told what to say. the last time that i checked i wasn't drinking every night and not working either.

  5. I love these shows, because when I watch them, they make me feel good about not being stupid. It also motivates me to teach my kids basic things like manners, and how to get a job.

  6. Personally i can do without them. These shows have gotten so bad it makes me think how low people will go in order to whore themselves out on TV. We the audience are also to blame for watching this garbage, by watching it we are enabling the TV companies to keep making these shows and their appears to be no end in sight.
